Under a read more for length and ranty-ness. I just needed to let off some steam.

I normally stay the hell away from shipper poo flinging fests.  They are dumb as fuck, but the recent resurgence of Klaine vs Kurtofsky on my dash and in the tags has me questioning whether people even think about Kurt as a character anymore.  You know, just on his own. 

A lot of the anti-Klaine arguments I have seen are based on the fact that the pairing apparently has no drama and is boring.  Because apparently for a character to have drama in their life, it has to be relationship oriented.  This brings me to Kurt as just a character.  This poor young man has gone through so much shit in his life in the past two seasons.  You can tell by the way Chris acts Kurt’s reactions to things that Kurt is fed up with drama in his life, and having to deal with the drama in the lives of those close to him.  Chris plays Kurt like Kurt just wants something real and solid in his life that he can always come back to to make him happy.  Kurt has decided Blaine is that. 

Here is a list of things Kurt has to worry about in the upcoming episodes: NYADA, being away from his father next year, Finn’s self esteem issues and general being directionless, Rachel not thinking her future through, their engagement, regionals, nationals, and graduation.  These are just some of the things he is dealing with, and notice, none of those have anything to do with Blaine.  The way it’s written, and the way Chris acts it, Blaine makes Kurt happy, and makes him feel loved.  The way he reacted to Dave clearly showed neither of those things.   It makes me wonder, the people claiming that Klaine should break up because it has no drama, do they even care about Kurt?  Do they remember how we all felt as Kurt fans during Duets when all he wanted was what other people had?  He has that now!  Why can’t shippers be happy for him no matter who it’s with?  I have nothing against people who ship non-canon things.  I have my share of them too.  I do have a problem with people who get angry with canon and with other fans because they (the shippers) choose to ignore major elements and decisions of the characters they ship.

So TL;DR: Please remember that characters exist outside of their romantic coupling, and that drama worthy of a television plot line can come from any aspect of life.
